Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies RIPMoney uses, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how you can change your choices at any time. It complements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more generally.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Some are strictly necessary for the site to work; others are optional and only set after you consent. We never store passwords or payment card details in cookies.

Your choices

When you first visit the site, a banner lets you accept all cookies or open Cookie Settings to choose per category. Necessary cookies are always on because the site cannot function without them; every other category is off until you switch it on. We do not set analytics cookies before you consent.

To change your mind later, delete the cookie-bar cookie in your browser (or clear this site's cookies) and reload the page. The banner will appear again with your preferences reset.

Cookies we use

Necessary cookies

Always active. They keep you signed in, protect forms against cross-site request forgery, and remember your cookie choice. They are set by us (first-party) and cannot be switched off.

  • ripmoney_session: keeps your session and sign-in state. Expires after 2 hours of inactivity.
  • XSRF-TOKEN: security token that protects forms and actions from cross-site request forgery. Same lifetime as the session cookie.
  • cookie-bar: stores your cookie preferences so the banner does not reappear. Expires after 6 months.

Functional cookies

Optional, off by default. If enabled, they let us remember preferences such as interface choices so you do not have to set them again on your next visit. They are first-party and are not used to track you across other websites.

Analytics cookies

Optional, off by default. If you enable them, we load Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited and how the site is used, so we can improve it. Google acts as our processor for this data; see the Google Privacy Policy.

  • _ga: distinguishes visitors with a pseudonymous identifier. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_<container-id>: maintains the analytics session state. Expires after 2 years.

Advertising cookies

Optional, off by default. We do not currently serve advertising and set no advertising cookies. The toggle exists so that, if we ever introduce advertising, nothing is set unless you have opted in. We will update this policy and name the specific cookies before any are used.

Payment cookies (Stripe)

When you buy credits we redirect you to Stripe's hosted checkout. Stripe sets its own cookies on its domain for fraud prevention and to run the payment, which are strictly necessary to complete your purchase. Stripe is an independent controller for that processing; see the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies directly in your browser. Note that blocking necessary cookies will sign you out and prevent parts of the site, including sign-in and checkout, from working.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy whenever the cookies we use change. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. If we add a new category of cookie that requires consent, we will ask you again before setting it.
